  • Temple: Holy but defiled, buried beneath the slums of Shutter Sprawl.
  • No significant NPCs appeared—focus was tightly on the party.
  • The party remains in Drowning Wallace, with more unfinished business ahead.

It began, as these things often do, over breakfast and bravado.

In the hearth-warmed clamor of a tavern bristling with festival cheer, Ipid beamed with pride, having finally mastered his sword-and-shield technique after months of bruises and gritted teeth. Yet amid the celebration, an unspoken resolve settled over the table—they would not tell Rose. This mission, buried in the heart of Drowning Wallace’s underworld, would proceed without her. Elspeth, half-vampire and wholly complicated, would join them instead.

As the city bustled in its first sunlight in weeks, the streets were still thick with fog—a mist that clung like breath on a mirror. Out of this spectral murk came Elspeth, floating, red-eyed, eerie. She was changed. Her patron, it seemed, watched the world through her gaze. A tether, unseen but undeniable, wrapped around the party’s trust. No plan, no backup. Just grim determination.

They reached the temple hidden beneath the Shutter Sprawl. With the ember key gifted by the ancient blacksmith, they melted the grate sealing the entrance. A descent followed: down a rusting ladder into wet earth and ankle-deep mud. Elspeth grabbed Aldric and leapt like mist on wind. The others followed, and so began the trial.

Ghouls struck first—sinew and maggot, fleshless and fierce. Ipid’s blade flashed with divine fury, cleaving through the rot. Then came dretches: swarming, wailing. Scorn’s Thunder Wave tore the pack apart; Elspeth’s Sickening Radiance burned them from within. Aldric conjured a flaming sphere to hold the tide, the air stinking of scorched death.

In a long-forgotten chamber, they found a skeleton gripping a ring. The voice of the blacksmith echoed in Scorn’s mind: “Wear it, and be what you must.” He obeyed. And when the bone devil appeared—a spined horror wreathed in tentacles and necrotic command—Scorn’s new power cracked open the battlefield. Magic surged. For a moment, the tide turned.

Then Elspeth fell.

The devil’s sting found her heart. As she died, she threw a scroll to Scorn—her final act, a silent plea.

Scorn knelt. Hollow. Wordless. The scroll burned in his hands as he began the hour-long ritual. Around him, Ipid became wrath incarnate. Divine energy poured from him in waves, shattering the devil’s spine and lighting the chamber like a storm of holy fire. Aldric incinerated the last ghouls. The battle ended in blood and ash.

They found the bodies—twisted, harvested. A cursed dagger, humming with undeath, nestled in the muck. And beside Elspeth’s broken form, a crystal dagger vibrated with unnatural light. They knew what it meant. The dead would rise unless something was done.

The flames were lit. Scorn’s ritual began.

No words were spoken. Only the crackle of fire, the murmur of spellcraft, and the silent weight of a soul departing.

Then—light. A woman descended, golden-haired, winged. Elspeth reborn.

She was Seraphim now.

Her eyes still sharp, her humor unchanged—but where once her breath drew cold, now it shimmered with warmth. She had cheated death, and with it, her patron. The plan had been hers all along.

And as the party gathered their strength for what came next, Drowning Wallace still waited above—dark, hungry, and unfinished.

Transcript

I can’t recall if Rose was wanting to go with us or if she just wanted to let to know when we found the temple. Rose wanted to be formed when you found the temple. Okay. Are we doing that, guys? There’s pros and cons to that. Yeah. I mean, Rose seems like a pretty powerful person, but I don’t. I think she’s something we can handle if anything bad happens, if that makes any sense. I’m not so sure. Wait, what? I wouldn’t want to take her on, but she’s going to swoop into that temple and grab what she wants and leave. That’s for sure. Yeah, no, I feel like we’d still be keeping our end of the deal if we make it out of the temple alive. And secondly, properly get what we’re after and have it in our possession. And then we’d be like, all right, now we’ll inform her, you know? Yeah. It sucks that we won’t have an extra set of hands, but. But Elspeth will be joining you. Elspeth, yes, and she’s a badass. That also has pros and cons. Well, pros and cons that me and Aldric are not aware of. I was going to bring this up from the last session. You said in regards to the short sword and shield combo that Ipet’s been trying to master. Before the end of last session, I rolled acrobatic three times. And you said that the beginning of this one I could try again. Yes, athletics. Got you. Athletics. Okay. Oh, yeah, acrobatics, athletics. Alright, cool. And I need to get over an 18, you said? Yeah. And you get three rolls. Here’s my first one: 15. Second one, 9. Last one. Oh, I need to get over, though, right? Oh, you need to hit it. It’s a DC. You did hit it. Say less. If it feels great. So, Ipid, after months of arduous training, painful training, feeling like your wrist was going to break, you pick up the sword today in the tavern and it’s light. Hell yeah. If it’s been in the bathroom this whole time, just feeling pumped. Nice. Do you want me to roll new portent rolls or use the ones that we got last week? Use the ones we got last week if you still have those. Yeah, I still have it. Cool. But yeah, we could pick up at the tavern just so that we can have a little fun. Oh, yeah. Wait, is my guy long-rested? Oh, I have an extra second-level spell slot, I just realized. I went from two to three. That really little helps, though. What kind of music would you like for exploring? Hmm. Creepy music. Yeah, I’ve been getting creepy, ominous, like dark filter vibes from this whole time we’ve been in this town. So that’s what I like. If it gets up bright and early, feeling great. You know, he’s like down in the tavern having a hearty breakfast with his shield at the ready. And you know what? For now, I’m going to have my greatsword since I know that I have my ability that I’m able to pretty much just get a hit anytime. My great axe, though, I’m going to use that another time. But yeah, my greatsword’s at the ready, and Ipet looks buff. Everybody looks buff. We all leveled up. We look good. And he’s waiting for his companions to come downstairs. The tavern is filled with the lively sounds of adventurers. You hear some laughing, dancing, singing, and some throwing up behind the bar. Oof. Yeah, Ultra, cool, go downstairs. See? Morning, Aldric. You ready for today, man? I think so. How’s it going? Yeah. It’s going good. I tried to get as much sleep as I could last night. I had a little bit of trouble, but hey, I’m here now. And I’m ready to get what I’m ready to get a hold of what we came here for. And hopefully we stay safe. Is Espeth meeting us at the bar before we leave? No, she will be meeting you at the entrance. Oh, she’s going to be there. Okay. Awesome. I am ready. All right, Scorn. You ready to meet up with your little girlfriend when we get over there? Cringe. He’s cringing. Oh, come on, man. Don’t make that face. She’s not my girlfriend. I mean, there’s clearly something between you two. I can tell by the way you guys are. That’s… Yeah, that’s really ancient history. Okay. All right. Look, I’ll take your word for it.
It and I’ll stop giving you a hard time for it. But. Oh, it’s okay. Just don’t give her a hard time for it. Oh, you think she’d take it? Ooh, you think she would take that hard? Or she might have an issue? Actually, she’s much happier than I expected her to be at this point, and I’d like to keep her that way. You know what? That’s really good. Hold on, you and your allies have. And I take a moment to sort out my spells, because I think because we’ve leveled up, it’s kind of reset them. Yes, Forge. Oh. Well, mine got updated. Is my aura of devotion something that’s always active? Because I don’t see it. Like, I see my aura of protection on my little character guy, but I don’t see my aura of devotion. But it doesn’t say if it’s active or not. You and your allies have immunity to charmed condition while you’re in. While in your aura of protection. Oh, okay. It’s just an addition to my aura of protection. Mm-hmm. Okay. So on top of the aura, you have the condition. So in top of that, me and my allies gain a bonus to saving throws equal to your charisma modifier. And we have immunity to being charmed, which is so cool. You guys feel some really nice energy when you’re near me. You got a really vibrant vibe going on here, Ipit. I feel pretty good, despite how I slept last night. I woke up and I feel more energized. I’ve got a little pep in my step. As you look at Ipet, his muscles look the last time you saw him. Hell yeah. Aldric discovers something about himself. In an unrelated thing, I need to turn off my camera for just a moment. You’re good. I’ll go on mute. Yeah. Ibit, in regards to his struggling of sleep last night, something that I didn’t keep in mind that would have honestly affected him. The slaying of people who looked like children bothered him from yesterday. But he’s trying not to make a big issue of it. Well, as Ipet is haunted by the past. Scorn dwelling on where the past is meeting the future. And Aldric oblivious to both. Aldric’s living in the now. Hey, I’m Bex. Sorry. That was not related to what you had just said, to clarify. Oh, okay, you’re good. So with all of you, none of you quite living in the present. You prepare to go deep into the past. Hell yeah, we are. Yeah, because I remember last time I said I was going to use Animate Dead. So that’s one of the spells I’ve made sure is prepared, as opposed to Counterspell, which I’m not going to use. I assume we’re not going to have any ghoulish wizards. I hope, anyway. Who knows what we’re going to do? I just heard that. Yeah. Alright, gentlemen, let’s get a move on. Everybody’s got their gear. Let’s get going. As you go to the shutters, the streets are quiet, the party, and instead you see the streets are littered with ashes of fires and filled. Where once it was a lively part of the city, if run down, now it is hollow, left with the smell of spilled beer and stained streets. Wind blows quietly, and the sun is slowly fading as fog creeps in. Hmm. Scorn, how much does it cost to live here? Oh, um, depends on what part of town you’re in. I guess you would say you’re middle class, because I feel like I don’t know if people are willing to pay a lot for this kind of condition. I gotta say, well done on the creepy music, I’m already creeping out here. Oh, yes. Aldric, who are you talking to? Aldric looks up and says, What? It was in an alleyway where the hatch is, right? Or like the sewer drain, or was it a hatch? It was in an alleyway. There is a hatch leading in. Okay. So do we want to talk to that blacksmith guy for any advice before we go? Yeah, I’m still a bit concerned on how he knew about this place. Like, did we ever get any information on why he knew about this? But he did seem to know about it for like a long time. Or had like something like that. It felt like he’d known it.
About it for a while. What do you guys think? Should we stop by there and maybe question him a bit, have a little more known to expect? What do you guys think? I guess we can ask him. Has he ever been down there? Has he ever taken a wee look? What do you think we’re expecting? I think we should. I think we should go. Just head straight in? Yeah, we’ve waited long enough. There’s nothing else we can do as far as I know. To prepare for this. Yeah, it’s either. Yeah, because either way, whatever we gain from him, it’s a matter of us. Either way, we’re going to have to face it. I feel Scorn is pumped up as well. Oh, yes. Figured a few things out. Oh, great. I see. Yeah, I’m happy to just go in then if we want to just go. Let’s do this. I’m ready. Sword in one hand, shield in the other. Where’s Elspeth? I look around for Elspeth. As you look around, you feel a chill down your back. That’s not the creepy music. Okay. The sky grows dark. Turn around. And you see red eyes glowing from the fog as someone approaches. Scorn, did Elspeth always have red eyes? You know, I don’t believe she did. Guys. Hello. If it gets prepared to see what’s about to approach us. Guys, be careful. Scorn. Scorn casts thaumaturgy and his eyes turn red. He’s like, what are you worried about? Lots of people have red eyes. Aldrich leaps back one step, leaps back very quickly. And Ipid takes points. The red eyes disappear. You hear giggling. What the hell? We turn around. You turn around and you see Elspeth now standing visibly in the fog. You need to stop doing that. Looking down at you, she says, Oh, I can do whatever I want. And you watch as she slowly floats above you. Oh, wow. You can fly. Gorn’s like, well, now you’re just showing off. I feel like we’re the only suckers here who use our own feet to get around. That’s definitely a theme, isn’t it? Yeah. Are you ready? I’m not. Why aren’t you ready? Oh, I’m never ready for anything. See, it’s only a plan only goes wrong when you have one. That is some. That’s true. Yeah, I guess that’s fair. And that’s a good thing because we really don’t have a plan. It’s a matter of us just going in and. Well, our plan is to find the temple. There, that is it. That’s our plan. Oh, that’s a goal, not a plan. Big difference. Oh. Uldrich is going to cast mage armor. You feel the magic wrapping around you. You feel a bit more secure, a little less defenseless. Yeah. Nice. Elspeth, your boss wouldn’t be concerned about where you are today, right? She looks. Oh, no, he wouldn’t be. Okay. You didn’t tell him about this at all since we’ve seen you last, right? Oh, no, he can see and hear everything I can. How you tell him? You’re joking, right? No. It’s part of the pact, you see. I forgot to mention it earlier. I got caught up in the secrecy of it all. So he. So wait, so wait, so he’s your patron? Yes. That tracks. Oh, God. It doesn’t make sense. We’re trying to be secret, but he could see everything we can do. Yeah, why are you? You were like being secretive with us. What the hell? Well, I was having a good time. Well, I guess if he hasn’t gotten himself involved until, you know. Maybe he approves. Yeah. Well, if we’re going to be observed, let’s make sure that we do this right. Yeah. Ipid, like, looks at Elspeth and like waves. Um, Ipid’s unsure about her and is going to keep a close eye on her now, because I feel like she’s been really skeptical up until this point. Um, all right. Well, I mean, you’re not ready, but I mean, we are as ready as we can be. Uh, and Ipid heads for unless anybody else wants to go ahead. Any volunteers? I feel like Aldrich had the key, did he? Oh, yeah. You were holding, like, the key the blacksmith gave you. Yes.
Right, so Aldrich’s gonna. Wait, but is that for the hatch or for the temple? For the hatch, is it? For the hatch. Oh, okay. Alright, never mind. Okay. Aldrich’s gonna look at Elspeth, but then hand it over to Ipit. Oh, okay. Look at Elspeth warily, you know. Just kind of. Ipit takes it. So, did any so what does the key look like? The key is a small glowing ember that has been hammered. What seems like a crystal. Oh, yeah, it was really hot or something. Can you feel that if it’s the heat emanating from it, but it doesn’t burn you? Okay. He’s holding it and looking down in it. He’s like, this is weird. And he approaches the hatch. What does that hatch look like exactly? Is it just like a plain wooden hatch or? So this hatch is a metal grate, much like the other sewers around it. Except this one, where the others had or a lock or nothing at all, this one has a small engraved circle of unrecognizable runes. Ipitz sees this and he places the ember right into the slot that it would maybe fit in. I’ll glance over the runes. Do they show up as anything that Aldridge would know? You vaguely recognize they’re only used by followers of a specific god. He’s a god of craftsmen and smithing. Hephaestus! The Greek. Something like that. As you place the key into it, the grate itself melts, dripping down into the hole. You can see this one doesn’t lead to a sewer, but a cave instead. Is it dark, or does it seem to be lit up in there? Watching the light from the glowing, you see it descend for dozens of eventually it reaches the bottom. Are there steps or is it just a straight hole? It’s a straight hole with a rusty steel ladder. Oh, okay. I thought we were going to have to do those water slides where you hold yourself. Gosh. Alright, well, here’s the second time we’re going to go into a dark hole. Ibid takes out his torch, lights it up, and what he does, he puts it on his back so his hands can be free while he climbs down. It’s like, alright, guys, I’ll head down first and make sure everything’s clear, alright? And then we’ll see you. I sure hope so. Let’s go one at a time on that ladder. Yeah, that’s smart. I’ll give you a holler when I reach the bottom. And Ibid starts to head down. Ibid, as you head down, a wretched shriek as the ladder starts to tear, bolts and rust falling. It holds in place. It wobbles with every step down. Oh, gosh. And I’m like probably the heaviest out of everyone, so I guess. But it’s still not broken. It’s just making lots of sounds as I get down. Making lots of terrible sounds. Okay. He’s going to keep going until it just keeps going. He just keeps going. And he tries to avoid the sounds. As you descend the ladder, you feel the air growing thicker, till eventually you go to take another step down the ladder, and your foot goes ankle deep. Gross. What’s it like down there? Squishy and wet. Now looking to your stone path carved right. Okay. So like when I’m in here, when I reach the bottom, I like move my torch around. So like I’m in ankle deep of mud. But is it like a big room? Is it a path that just keeps going into a path splitting off into two directions? One goes into carved stone and the other towards paving. Guys, I hit the bottom. It seems to be clear down here. There’s a path that splits, so before I move on, you guys should head down here. Be careful with the ladder, though. Uh-huh. I’ll go next. And yeah, how’s that ladder? As you do go down, the ladder wobbles back and forth, bolts occasionally falling off and hits. Oh, gosh. And if it’s at the bottom, bracing and recalls just straight, just drifting down on top of you, settling on eventually. Like beep, beep. Take it slow, man. And the ground is slow and wet. As you sink into it, the wrappings around your feet slowly get soaked. You shouldn’t have. I hope you didn’t wear your nice shoes today, Scorn. I’m sorry. I wore my travel boots today. Got you. Scorn’s down here, guys. Whoever’s next. Elspeth, do you want to go next?
Elspeth looks at you. Sure. Let’s go next. She grabs Scorn, picks him up, just jumps. Oh. Scorn’s down there already. Oh, not Scorn, I’m sorry. Grabs Aldric. Grabs Aldric and jumps. Oh, no. Aldric screams. As you go fall into the bottom, you land right beside Ipid, and you see Elspeth land and go down into her waist in the mud. The screams as we hear the screams. Barely being held above the mud by Elspeth. Trying to avoid it. He’s trying to avoid it, you know, like a baby trying to avoid getting into a bus. Before they reached the ground, Ipid looked up at the screams, like, Elspeth, are you okay? You hear Elspeth laughing as she digs herself out of the muck. Elspeth, what the hell was that for? That was so scary. Well, save some wear and tear on the ladder. Next time you need to give us a warning, you can’t be scaring our Aldric like that. Aldric’s wiping anything, any dust off himself. Off of his already dirty traveling gear. Um. Um, what’s this over here? Doesn’t it look like a sewer? Yeah, that’s that’s what that’s what I’m saying. I don’t, I don’t know, I’m not sure. There’s this. It seems like that’s a room. You guys want to go look over there first? I think I do. Alright. Let’s check it out. As you are watching. Aldric will tap on the ground and just cast light as well. As well as having Ipid’s torch. I just thought, just in case we get separated or something. Smart? You hear the shuffling ghouls. Here we go again. Guys, we’re not alone in here. I assume those circular things are pillars. Yes. It is a stone-built room held up by pillars, and you can see path. Okay. This clearly sound of. Where’s the sound of ghouls coming from? It echoes throughout the caves. You know where they are, but there are many. So there’s a rough stone passage here, and I don’t know what this is here. What am I looking at? Looking at where it is collapsed. Okay. Used to be a path. Did it used to be a path? No, it is where part of the wall has. And on the eastern side, it looks like there’s a path. Yes. Here. Yeah. It looks like we got a couple of ways. Should we stay on the path that this building has made for us, or should we go into the unknown? Well, I think going to the one the building’s made for us. Elspeth, you gonna keep up? Is that a door? Elspeth follows. No, it is not. Oh, wait, where? Okay. I was looking at this alcove here, wondering what was in it. I got you. Not much, is it? As you’re walking, smell something putrid. You smell. It is even worse than when you are in the sewers, and it sticks to the back of your. Ew. You guys smell that? Yes. Reaks of sulfur and bile. Sulfur. It seems like the split path led back into. As you turn the corner, you see two ghouls standing. They haven’t noticed you yet. Ipid backs up where he came from slowly. Guys, guys, there’s two ghouls around this corner. Make a stealth room. Oh, I’m not good at that. That’s an eight. Yeah. Are you in heavy armor? Yep. Yeah, so you have disadvantage. You can still roll. As you back up. I wish I automatically did that. You trip over yourself with a loud clash of metal, and you hear the chasing. Elspeth. I wish you would, motherfuckers. Elspeth is not to be seen. Ah, come on! Figures. Core, you’re supposed to keep an eye on her. No, no, I wasn’t. Not really. We’re just using Ipid, you’re the first to react as the ghoul. That’s a first. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Ibid. Ibid’s going to go ahead and swing his great sword at the ghoul to the north of him. Ooh, was that a natty twenty? Oh, hell yeah. You start off strong, wielding your sword with one hand with a determined fury, earned.
Through months of hard leap. Oh, yeah. So, when it’s a 20-roll attack, what does that mean again? It’s your double damage dice. It’s double dice, okay. Oh, yeah, critical hit. That’s a 19 on my first one, but since it’s this, I’m going to go ahead and use my Fury attacker on this one so I can get the best outcome here. I’ll keep that 19. So, with my first swing, I just fucking go directly for its head. And I hit it for 19 damage. You cleave off the top half of its skull, leaving its brain exposed. And you can see the inside of the skull is rotten and swollen with maggots. That’s gross. After doing a little bit of damage to that one, Ipid’s going to take his second attack, and to the one to the south of them, he’s going to pretty much like he did that, and now he’s just going to swing back with that initial force at the second one. Go ahead and attack. Oh my gosh, why are there so many pop-ups? Just let me freaking attack. That’s a 22. That hits. Moral damage. And that’s going to be a 9 damage. As you stab, the other begins oozing. Aggots come crawling out. If it’s going to stay nice up and close to these guys. And he’s just like… He’s like. He’s just like, some help would be grateful. On the way. And that’s going to be it for my turn. Pretty good turn. As you take your step back in clawing out, the first one barely hits you. Well, no, at 20? Yeah, yeah, it does hit me. I thought you said it barely doesn’t hit you. And I’m like, no, no, no, it hits me. It hits you with its claws for 16 days. And you feel a maggot landing on your skin under the armor and start biting you. Oh, what? Oh, these are some gross maggots. He won’t eat much, don’t worry. It flails around blindly with its second attack. He got a natural one, so does it just die? No. Scoring, you’ve seen Ipid chased by ghouls, fending them off. Uh-huh. The one that got the crit on him, I think, was. Or the one he critted, I think, was this one. Yes. Yep. I am going to firebolt it. That’s my boy right there. That’s my boy. Fuck. I think I missed it. I firebolt the wall behind the ghoul. Oops. That’s it. I’m going to back up a bit. Yeah. Ipid in his prohibit. Jesus in the corner. Aldric, as you’ve seen Scorn, fake scorn firing off at a ghoul and missing. Ipid standing shoulder to shoulder with what do you do? Aldric steps forward and it’s like, no, scorn, that’s the right idea. I like your style. And Aldric’s also going to firebolt the one of the top, the north one. It’s the right idea, man. We’ll get it. 21 for the next. Aldrich’s roles have been private, so like, this is just. Oh, sorry. Oh, that wasn’t. Yeah, I’ve changed it now. Sorry. That’s fine. I liked it. It kept me on the edge of my seat. On the edge. Where’s the damn? Oh, there we go. Oh, yes. That’s a good hit. Holy shit. 2D10 got a 19. That’s a great roll. You pull off what remains of its head, and you see a long, snake-like tendril coming from where its neck is. Something is controlling it from within the chest. Oh! What type of visitant evil shit is this? Aldrich says, what? And steps back. This is getting ugly. Extremely ugly. That’s my turn. We’ll go swinging at you with its claws. Blinds battering against your armor. Dun dun dun. Danta. What? Oh, no. These ghouls have been getting too lucky. What the hell? With the turn of your early fury, it swings at you. Clawing across your face. I thought going into this cave with a 20 AC was going to be enough, but I guess not. It hits you for. Oof. Ipid is bloodied already. Yeah. Yeah. You hear Elspeth laughing as she comes running around the corner and goes silent.
The f nice of you to join us. Ibid, it is your turn. Ibid winces at the pain of whatever the hell this thing is. And he’s going to go and try for an attack at the center mass of whatever might be control on this thing, because I think it might be in its chest. And he’s going to go ahead and swing with his great sword once again. That’s a 15. That hits. That hits. Okay. I’m going to roll some damage. I’ll take the 12, but this time I’m going to use one of my divine smites on top of that. So that’s going to be a 10. Plow! What? What do you mean? No uses on Divine Smite left. But I’ve long rested. Hold on. Okay, whatever. Okay. There we go. And that’s a 14 plus 10, so that’s a 24 damage total. Nice. As you splash through the ghoul, cutting its chest in half. You see the writhing of tentacles as it collapses to the ground. The tentacles stop, I assume. As what’s oozing out of the tentacles burns the stone ice. Ugh. This isn’t normal. It’s still alive, though? No. Oh, okay. Ibid is grossed out at this thing, and he’s going to look at the other one and swing his great sword once again. 25. That hits. Normal for damage. Only 9 damage on that one. But after doing that 9 damage, he’s going to go ahead and back up from him, giving himself some distance. Makes an opportunity. That was close. Yeah. The ghoul leaves a wet streak across your armor, which before your very eyes, you see it bubble away and your armor is left shining. Oh my gosh. What are these things made out of? What the hell? Yeah, these are not the same. They’re not the same. She looks at you guys, trying to assess the situation. Scorn, what’s going on? Ipid’s a little beat up. Those two ghouls got him by surprise. She looks at the ghouls, her whispering words underneath breath as she casts a spell. Feel the air around as she steps forward and casts burning hands. On me? It seems like a normal spell. Who’s she casting it on where? It’s going to step forward shoulder to shoulder past and cast burning hands. I think we’re all primed for betrayal at this point, right? They’re all suspecting something’s going to happen. What are you doing? She winks at you. I’m cooking it, obviously. Cookie what? What? You see the flames shoot from her fingertips and wrap around the makes a saving bowl. Wow. Okay. Takes 27 fire damage as the flames wrap around. You hear shrieks as the tentacles burn. Wow. It comes stumbling forward towards Elspeth. It claws at her as she steps away and fails to make content. Moves a little too quickly around. Scorn. Oh, not bad. Not bad at all. Scorn steps over here and takes a bonus action to cast. What? It’s True Strike. Yes. True Strike is good. I’m casting True Strike and I’m going to smack that ghoul. Oh, and I don’t have my. Hmm. I had a True Strike quarter staff on my sheet, but I don’t. So let me see. I’ll just use the spell. There’s got to be a better way to do this. Okay, True Strike. Melee Weapon, cast a spell. Okay, so I’ve got my. I got my staff enchanted now. How’s this going to go? Okay. I get my. I should be getting my charisma on this. It should be plus seven to hit, but it’s not. Okay. What’s it say? Um. Sorry about this. The character sheet got changed tonight. I didn’t update it with the. for the True Strike. There’s a 15 hit. Yes. Okay. So I am going to manually do this. There it is. Ooh. Nice. 16 points of damage. As you hit, radiance crumples inward. Maggots gushing out into it. You feel.
Some landing on your arms, biting you. Ew. Okay, that’s that’s me done. Room is a little quieter now. But the stench link. Gosh, what the hell was that? What are those things? Those aren’t like the ghouls that we normally fought. They’re not. And I have no idea. Here’s a healing potion, Ipid. I had five, but now they’re gone. Oh no. Yeah. My weapons are all here, which is why I’m concerned about. Did I not have them on my DD Beyond character sheet before the transfer? I don’t think I did. Hold on. Yeah, I need to update that my stuff is attuned, so I’ll just do that. Kill them. I’m looking through my teams. Just take a moment to everyone check through their sheets. Yeah, they’re um instead of adding them manually. I’m just going to keep track of them here on my app. I have five. I’m going to go ahead and use one. So potion healing, greater, you gain 4d4 plus 4. So I’m going to go ahead and just roll that manually. Are you sure you don’t want me to cast a spell? No, I’d rather use the potions than your spell slots. Fine. Aldric goes up to Elspeth and says, Nice use of fire. Very nice. Elspeth. Wow. Well, those wizards we took care of aren’t the only ones who can set things on fire. That’s good to hear. I also quite like fire. A lot of my abilities are related to fire. Yes, fire is very good. Certainly is. You hear something squirt distance deeper in the game. Uh, guys, do you hear that? Um, Ipid downs two potions of greater healing, and he’s now back up to forty-five out of fifty-three. He’s like, okay, where do you hear? What do you hear, Aldrich? Yeah, silence. Uh, uh, it was shambling, shuffling, something like that. Oh gosh, okay. Uh, did I hear which direction? From the southeast. Uh, behind us. Oh, move towards the pillar. I’ll hide behind that pillar. Kind of take a peek around. Elspeth, do you have any idea what the hell that might have been? Elspeth sniffs the air. Smells like demons. Demons, like not just ghouls, but like demons, or ghouls, like a type of demon? Or what? Elaborate. Demons, something summoned from people. We’d suspected that demons had been involved when these were made. Ugh gosh, okay. Um Ipid slowly continues onward. You guys stay close, alright? As the smell gets worse in the screen. I’m behind you. Two ways. You going south? I think North is back up into that main room anyway, so. Oh. Gorn looks behind him and uses the message cantrip. You still with us? You see Elspeth slinking behind you, muttering something to herself. Can’t make out what. She slinks very nicely. Uh-huh. Guys, before you make the turn, come over here. And Ipid like holds himself to the wall as he sees whatever the hell that is ahead. You see a swarm of dretches. A glimpse of tiny, disgusting that ooze putrid pus. Ugh, what the fuck is that? Can we do can Aldric do some kind of looking around and analyzing to see if he knows what it is? Yes. Roll investigation. Oh. Aldric rolls like God and gets a target. Aldric knows this thing stat block. These are dretches. Wretched creatures from the lower planes of the abyss have been summoned by a greater power. They never come alone or willingly. Something else drags them. Once they’ve made it to this plane, they exist in a chaotic, angry sense. Never seeking out any sort of goal, just destruction and suffering. I think there’s a demon or something controlling what we’re seeing, and we’re going to find him later on. I think there’s a higher power here. So these are just minions. Yeah, and they’re deliberately being sent, it seems. Well, we can send them back where they came from. Are you really you seem pretty confident in that? Oh, well, I’m not saying we’ll win, but we can take a bunch of them with us. Ipid, do you have any ability to?
Fight demons? Do you have anything? As a paladin. I guess a demon is considered as a fiend, right? Yeah, your elder. I’m sorry, your divine smite would get an extra die against them. Yeah, and I think that’s pretty much all I have in regards to extra damage when it goes against fiends and stuff. And are they considered undead? No. No. No. Ibid, before he does anything, he’s going to go ahead and Divine Favor. Tool spawns your attacks with demons. You’re trying to 1d4 radiant damage on a hit. If I cast that as a level 2, what does that make my. Level 2? It does a die and it does. Oh, shoot. Now I’ve forgotten. Aha. Here. Paladin Smite. Well, no, Divine Favor, second level. Oh, Divine Favor is. Would it instead just be 2d4 radiant damage instead of 1? No, it doesn’t get any bone upcasting. Okay, cool. Just wanted to make sure. Alright, then. Never mind. But either way, he’s going to go ahead and prepare himself. So my attacks will deal an extra 1d4 radiant damage. So he’s going to give himself Divine Favor before proceeding. Any extra damage helps. Yeah. And Ipid’s like, alright, gentlemen. And Elspeth, sorry. Let’s get ready. And Ipid’s going to slowly approach the room. As you approach the room, the stench gets worse and worse. Oh, gross. So is this just one of them, or is there a group of them? I can only see one of them. There is a group of small creatures. Oh, okay. They’re not, like, huge. No, it’s just a swarm of these nasty, up to about your waist, but there’s maybe a dozen of them. They’re like around in a pile. Gotcha. They become swarming towards you. This looks like a dog on its hind leg. I like searched up a Google image of it. Weird dog, though. And Ipid has his sword at the ready. Ready for this thing? Or these things. Roll an issue. Ugh. Yeah. Well. Hey, at least they got a four. Here’s mine. Five, four, three. Okay. I’m doing a little better now. Ipid, I think you will have an inspiration, a heroic inspiration that I gave you. Did you use that? I don’t think you did, right? Last session, I did have a heroic inspiration. I used it to try to intimidate the 12-year-old looking 40-year-olds. Okay, okay. Yeah. But we did just long rest, though. So should I technically have another one? Yes. Is that how that works? How does that work? What is it exactly? If you’re human with an extra, you can give your heroic inspiration to someone else. So if we rested after that, I would have given it again to Ipid. Okay, so I just have one at the ready? Yeah. Roll another D2A when you want. Okay, cool. Alright, I have it ready. I’m going to use it wisely. But as of right now, I think I’m just going to save it. I know, I know, but I always forget mine as well. So, yeah. Good, good. You’re good. Something about his human-esqueness just inspires me. Alright, Scorn, how did you start coming? Scorn steps up here, and it’s time for a thunder wave. Hell yeah! We’ll just. Rose isn’t nearby, right? Right. Yeah, it’s going to be like this. That’ll get them all. And let’s see. Damage. 2d8. That’s weak. However, they have a DC-15 con save. They fail. It’s a fail, and they’re all pushed back 10 feet from the blast. Oh, and it makes a humongous noise. So whatever is nearby will be coming here now. You hear steps coming from the north behind us. Something is coming. It’s probably El Spen. We left her back there. Of course, I could be wrong. I’m done. You hear another swarm come writhing its way up to Ipid. If it’s like, y’all ready for this? I wish you would. Ooh, you suck. Ooh. Nice try. You’re too slow. As the dretches surround you, they are covering you and.
It sticks in the back of your throat. It makes you want to turn over. Aldrich thinks, and he just got that cleaned as well. Hey, my armor has a magical ability to stay clean. We’re okay. Alright. Oh. See Alsbeth coming from behind. That’s what she said. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Nope. Oh, wow. Good one. Elspeth with a P. Yes. Good lord. That’s a big radiance. Oh, yeah. 30 foot. Jesus. Oh, wait. Don’t start its turn. I searched up what a dretch looked like just because I wanted the visual, and somebody commented on what it looks like, and it just says, handsome devil, isn’t he? You! That’s funny. You see the light burning into one of the dretches. A few of them fall to the ground, dying. The rest climb over the bodies with fervorous rage. And she could keep that going as long as she’s concentrating, right? Yeah. Cool. We’re going to make sure she keeps concentrating on. Pretty much trying to be the wall he can be to make sure Elspith can keep doing what she’s doing. He’s going to go ahead and make a strike at the group to the. right in front of him pretty much. That’s a nine. That’s a silver graze, though, so I at least get three damage on him. That’s for his first attack. And then for his second attack, he’s going to do the one to the north of him, the one that’s right above him. I’m just really just trying to spread my damage some more. 13. Does that hit? Roll your damage. Ooh, sure does. I’m going to roll one more time, see if I get a little better than that. 13 damage total. You cut down a few of the dretches. Ooh, and I get to add an extra D4 from my. What’s it called? Because it wasn’t automatically at it, was it? Divine favor. Yeah, I don’t know that it was. It wasn’t, so you have one. Say less. Alright, so yeah, that’s 13 plus 1. 14 damage. Oh, yeah. With a little bit of a backswing, you catch the last of the Dretches. And now there is Orup that’s in front of you. Ooh! Thank God for that extra roll. Um, Ibid’s gonna save his attacks, though, and he’s gonna go ahead and just still stand in front of this thing, hopefully prioritizing its attacks on me, and that’s the end of his turn. Aldricle turn. These dretches come swarming up on Ipid, and now they are being bathed in a green, sickening light. Aldrich’s gonna take a look behind him. Would it be an action to look at the hallway behind? Or could I just take a look? You could just go back and forth and take a peek. Yeah, he takes a peek, maybe ten feet backwards. Is there anything coming? You can hear things coming. I can just hear things. Right. So then he’s going to run another 20 feet back to the group using all the movement he has, which I think would get him around about there. And then he’s going to cast. Does the Dretch look almost death? Does it look beat up? Or. The swarm of dretches is thinning out as there’s a little more climbing on top of the bodies of their. Can Aldrich hold some kind of action? Like a spell? Yes. What would you like to hold? Flaming sphere, which I’ll put into the chair. Flaming sphere that I would want to kind of put into the hallway behind us. And if I hear anything definitely coming, he would put the sphere there in anticipation so that it would kind of have to walk through it. Just behind us, just like there. That’s the end of his turn. You have a chance to put the sphere as you see two ghouls coming down. Oh. Yeah, well, let’s do it then. The sphere. Well, if I. Right, could I put it maybe? Oh my gosh. Really? I would want to put it to cast it. So I summon it. Summon it. Summon it. Yes, consume spell saw it. Yes. Place measure template, right? Yes. Sweet. There. Do you see that? Yes. Is that it? I think I clicked it too in the front, so that’s it. They need to make their death.
Dexterity-saving throws as they end things. Yeah. The first school on its turn makes words you. It’s dexterity-saving. It fails horribly, stepping right into the flaming sphere. Roll damage on it. 2d6 is if you cast it with a second level spell slot, yes. Ooh, seven. Well, well. It’s something. Seven fire damage. The next school stands next to the sphere. Unaware of the flames, you see its leg slowly roll damage again for that one. Oh, new damage? Yeah. Alright. Holy moly. Nice. Its flesh is cindering as its leg is slowly being consumed. You see the fat dripping as it burns. Oof. The smell. Scorn. Yeah. Um. Behind us. On one hand, you have Ipid facing down the last of the Dretches, and the other, you see Aldric standing with a flaming sphere and two ghouls looming. He’s doing a great job. I tell you. I’m. You got this. And yeah, I’m using True Strike again. I’ll see if I can finish off some Dretches. Boom. What is that? That’s an 18. That hits. That should hit. And damage. Boom. That’s really average. Okay, 11 points of Radiant. I think True Strike does Radiant. You managed to knock down a couple of the ghouls, and if them are still sworn. Oh, well, that’s sad. Will you do anything with your bonus action? True Strike was a bonus action. Oh. And then I cast the spell. Or then I make the attack. Okay. Let me double-check that. It’s an action. Okay, so I do still have my bonus action. So I will give Ipid a Bardic inspiration since I was moments ago just cheering him on. Yeah, you got him. You got him. Keep it up. Thank you, Hun. Dretches on top of it. He smacks them back with his shield as they fervorously keep attacking him. Their stench spreading all over his armor. Are they taking damage from Sickening Radiance? Yeah. Now, it’s. They fail. You see the last of the Dretches shrinking to the ground as their flesh burns. Thank you, Elsbeth. Thank you, Scorn. Good job now. Behind us. Aldric, you’re doing great, man. Elspeth whips around towards Aldric. You hear a loud, shattering sound ringing out. It echoes through the Elspeth turns towards Aldrich. You better get away from those. I plan on doing that. Yeah. Ipid, it is your turn. There are no more Dretches. Green light has gone away. Alright, sounds good. Ipet’s going to head over here and stand side by side with when it’s Elspeth. And he’s going to go ahead and do something new. Because is there still an area of damage going on over there? For the Flaming Spear. There is. There’s Flaming Spear, yeah. Okay. Alright, so Ibid’s going to go ahead and take out his spear, and he’s going to try to throw it at the northern ghoul. Every time. You throw your spear, it goes past Aldric and past the ghouls clattering down the hall. I have to get better at that. Sorry. What else is going on? If I can go up to them, I’m going to get hurt. Only if you end your turn there, so you could try to run past him. Okay. I guess Ipid’s going to go in, try to make a hit, and back away before he could possibly get hit. So you see Ipid run by Aldric and go into what is like a ball of fire, pretty much, right? Yes. He goes in there for a moment and slashes at the ghoul right in front of him. And that’s a ten. He’s not hit. But it does graze him, so it’ll take three damage from him. But in that failed attempt to a full attack, he’s going to go ahead and backstep past Aldric again. Hopefully avoiding an opportunity attack.
The ghouls lash out as you back away. The first one misses by a wide margin. As does the other. Flailing about, you see the tentacles and their arms writhing as they miss. I back away from the fire before I was able to get seriously injured. And Ipet pants after doing all that movement. I barely hit him. It wasn’t even enough to really get a good hit on him. Aldric, it is your turn. You have seen the two ghouls burning. Ipid run past you and back. You heard the shatter ring out, and there are no more living dretches. What? Yep, Aldric sprints past towards just beside Elspeth, turns around and firebolts the top one, top ghoul. Rolta hit. So roll to hit. Oh no. You fire it off. It’s too flustered. There’s too much stuff going on. And he will, as a bonus action, he can move that sphere. So he would try to bring it forward a bit in anticipation that the ghouls are going to move towards us. And he would try to move it forward, but not in Ipet’s range, obviously. But he would kind of be saying, kind of, come back, guys. They’re going to go into the fire again. If we retreat a bit. If we taunt them. So he’ll move the sphere kind of there to try and get them in their next turn. Because it’s a concentration. It’s like right there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But trying not to get Ipid, obviously. I don’t know if that succeeds or not, but. Just out of Ipit’s range. Yeah, yeah, something like that. That’s it. Now the ghouls come lurching forward. Top ghouls running towards. You hear its bones cracking. It moves unnaturally fast for its body. Begins pounding with its claws. Ooh. Manages to sneak an attack past his defenses. Hits Ipid for 12 damage. That’s not nice. It attacks again. This time, it glances off of Ipet’s shield as he stands there, panting, barely withstanding the assault. Ghoul behind him comes running up and is stuck in the unable to make it past. So at the end of their turn, they would need to make another dexterity saving throw, I believe. Or this sphere. What was your DC? Um my spell DC is 14. Alright, one fails, one succeeds. Can you roll damage, please? 2D6 again. 9. You see the ghoul whose burn legs, the flames grow higher up onto its body, wrapping around its chest. Scorn. I’m going to take the high ground here. And now I can’t move my token. Yep. Can you? Thank you so much. Get right up to here. And I will firebolt any ghoul that I can see. Because that’s easy. There it is. Close. That hits. Close, but I managed to hit him. And the damage is a lot. Woohoo! That’s good. I’ll take it. You see this ghoul staggering as the firebolt puts a large hole in its chest. And inside you see a colony of tentacles holding it together. Yuck. This place is gross, dude. That place is gross. That’s disturbing seeing that. Yes. I’m done. But in an awesome way, it’s awesome. Elspeth is her turn. It’s giving me very resident evil vibes. Gosh, I almost forgot Elspeth was. Elspeth, go ahead. I’ll just stand there. Do something. I can’t lie. Elspeth looks like a waitress. From her profile picture. Like, when I zoom in, I can tell it’s like pretty official clothes, especially with the badge from afar. It looks like she works at Applebee’s. No, that’s Flare. She’s got her flare on. Right. Yeah. Okay. Who didn’t see the office? No, well, office space. Yeah. Office space joke. You see her hands become wrapped in shadows as she claws the ghouls. Office space is on my watch list. I haven’t seen it. It’s awesome. She attacks and misses. Ipid, it is your turn.
Ipid’s gonna go ahead and swing at the guy right in front of him with his great sword. Well, he looks great with his nice arms. Roll to hit. 21. I’ll keep the 14. That’s gonna be a 14 plus 3. 17 damage. As you cut into the ghoul, you see more maggots spilling out of its side onto the fl you. Is it still standing? It’s still standing. And he’s gonna go ahead and use that second attack on the same guy then. 19. That hits, rolled. Alright. That’s 10 damage. And Divine Favor, is it every attacker once in action? Spells attacks. Your attacks with weapons deal next year. So every attack. Okay, cool. Every attack. So that’s a 10 plus. Well, the one was technically my first roll, so. 11. You see it slowing down as it’s bleeding out, dripping forward where its blood is burning through the stone, but it still stands. Aldric, it is your turn. You see the ghouls in the hallway by your flaming spear. Ipid’s holding them at bay. Yeah, he’s just saying, we’re gonna cook them. It’s cooking time. And he’s firebolting the one that’s closest to Ipid. It doesn’t go wide. Another firebolt goes shrieking over ghouls. The hallway behind them is quite scorched now, and you see black marks all along it. Alright, that’s it. I think if Ipid holds them there, they’ll end their turn, hopefully, within that sphere, so he doesn’t move the sphere. He kind of concentrates on keeping it there, hoping that they’ll get burnt later on. That’s his turn. Claws at Ipid. Claws. What? Dude! I swear they have not been rolling this good before. What the hell? Deals 12 damage to Ipid. Sneaking through his armor. Pulling him down, bitch by bit. Fails its dexterity saving to roll fire damage. 2d6 again. 9. Again. The other ghoul stands behind, unable to advance. Swinging its claws wildly in rage as its body slowly turns. Yeah, keep them in that. Keep them. It also fails. See how much. 2D6 coming up. Seven. You see its flesh smoking as it has almost burned through an entire leg, and you can see the bone exposed. Scorn is your turn. Firebolt did so well last time. We’ll try it again. I’ll just stay where I’m at. And help to cook these ghouls. I think that’s a hit. That hits. Are you targeting the one in the front or the back? Let’s say the one in the front. And here’s the damage. That’s midland damage, okay. You hit this ghoul, blowing off a chunk of its shoulder, sending maggots spewing down the hall. Okay, that’s all for me. Elspeth on her turn, fingers still wrapped in the shadows of a vampiric touch. Attacks. She fails to hit. Off her game right now. She looks back around at you guys. Come on, come on. We almost got him. Ipid, it is your turn. Okay. Um Ipid’s gonna do what Ipids do best. Swing his great sword at this guy in front of him. 19. That hits. Why can’t I… I swear this bothers me that I can’t just do it as a double roll every time. 13. 16. I’ll take the 16 damage. And that’s gonna be 16 plus. Nope. Oh my god, what is going on? No, no, no, no. What the f? There we go. Um 17. 17 damage. As you hit this ghoul, how do you kill this one? This one, I um this one I just like I jab it through its chest. I like I insert the the great sword directly into its chest and I slice up. Splitting it. Splitting. Splitting him pretty much. As you split the ghoul in half, tentacle chunks and maggots rain and you seize you see. What do my dragon eyes see? Within the tentacles there are maggots writhing with the tentacles. Arbing ghouls are controlling. Ew! It’s your turn. Aldric’s turn. Wow. He’s pretty happy that that ghoul went down and he’s pretty confident that the fire is going to get them. I don’t think he needs to expend much.
You know, higher pirate spell slots at the moment, because if we’re going to go further into this dungeon, there might be something worse. Yeah, so Firebolt. Can he see the ghoul from here? If not, you will move up. You can see the ghoul from there. He has land of sight. Yeah, yeah. So he’ll just, yeah, Firebolt, he’ll say, you know. Oh, Firebolt goes flying past, collecting up more ash on the other side of the hallway. We’ll get him next time. That’s his turn. He’s pretty confident. We’ll be okay with this last ghoul. This last ghoul’s up towards Ibid. Its body half consumed by flames as it attacks. Ipid flicks it off. Ooh, Batman. Enraged by Ipid’s display, it ferociously bears down. Oh no. How are you doing, Ipid? Flying into Ipet. Not good. And attacks again. This time rebuffed by the shield. Ipet is at 11 HP, y’all. Oh, man. It fails its saving throw against the flaming spear. I hope this fire kills him. Aldric’s directing the fire at this ghoul, hoping that it’s going to go down soon. You watch as the flames climb from the ghoul’s legs up towards its chest, burning. And it collapses as this ligaments snap in the heat. The cave is awfully quiet now. Guys. These things are tough. Yes, yes, they are. Scorn walks down and hands Ipet a healing potion. Drink up. Are you sure? I have three myself. I don’t know if I should take these first or maybe you hold on to yours. I’m not sure. Okay, if you run out, let me know. Okay, good. Yeah. Let me use my supply first because on top of that, I have my. We should work through the potions first. What are you? Anyone else injured? Good. Okay. Elspeth, you’re okay. Elspeth looks at you, her eyes hollow. I think I’ll be up. It’s withdrawn. All of the vibrancy gone. I think she feels bad that she missed. Aldric whispers to Scorn. Don’t worry about it. Oh my gosh. That was a lot of dice. Wow. Yeah, no, I meant to roll it once, so I don’t know why it does that. I’m going to go ahead and just use all three. Now you’re out. Now I’m out. Now I’m out. I’m going to take point for a while. Yeah. Aldrich actually has a healing potion. I’ll give one healing potion to you, can I? It’s not a great error though. I think it’s just. No, it’s fine. You hold on to yours right now. You sure. I feel like. Yes, because I’ve used up mine. I feel it’s. Because, like, if we do have to transfer those during combat, it takes like a whole action or something to give somebody some, like a potion or something. And worst case comes to worst, I can use my bonus action to heal myself with lay on hands. If you’re sure. Mm-hmm. But I am now back up to max because the 12 takes me exactly up to 53. So, after downing some potions, Ipid’s feeling a lot better. And Ipid, before we get moving, he would like to roll Insight on Elspeth. Roll Insight. 18. Despite what it might seem, she is unfinished with these ghouls. But she is listening to someone. Someone who has grew. But try not to make it obvious. Elspeth just walks by her. Or Ipid walks by her following Scorn, who’s taking the lead. And I’m going to say, Elspeth, everything alright? Elspeth looks at you and I feel something. Just keep your head on the mission, okay? She looks at you. I wonder what it feels like to die. I guess a lot of vampires would think that. I couldn’t answer that question, Elspeth, but let’s try not to figure out tonight. You hear it all echoing. Ultric’s walking up to where those dretches were and using that gust to try and blow away any horrible smells. I like that. Your gust, the smells swirl around you, only getting stronger from the disturbance. Oh, I’m mop. Oh no. Sorry. Okay, I’m going to gag. But I’m going to try and sneak out in the hallway stealthily and look around. This was not a good idea.
I’m sorry. I’m sorry. It’s okay. It’s worth. What do I see out here? You see a small enclosed room and a skeleton wearing a ring. Its flesh has all been picked away, and the ring is shining still. Oh, it’s not an animated skeleton, is it? No. No, okay. Um, go and have a look at this. We got a body in here. Well, what’s left of one? Ugh. You said it has a ring on it, like on its finger? Scorn’s examining this ring. As you look at the ring, you hear a voice telling you. Well, that’s never a good sign. I think I will not put that on right away. Unless I am compelled to. You are not compelled to, you just hear a voice. I just tuck it into my pouch. Anything else? Anyone else? Did anyone else hear that? Oh, what? Hear what? Evil spirits. No worry about it. Ah, the usual. Scorn. As you hold the ring, the voice gets louder. Nice it. Oh. Oh. Whose voice is it? You recognize this void blacksmith in the slums. Says, put it on. You’re going to need it. Well, now that’s. That’s unsettling. I just heard a voice. It sounded familiar. What’s it saying to you? Sounded like the blacksmith telling me to put the ring on. Why would the blacksmith talk to you? Wow. I’m not sure, but there was more to him than met the eye, that’s for certain. Yeah, now we think we probably should have spoken to him before we got into here. We spoke to him a little. With visible trepidation, Scorn is going to put that ring on slowly. As you put Field’s magic. That’s what I’m afraid of. Something has changed. Roll a D20. And whatever you roll is the amount of levels you get. I got the six. Oh, he’s level 13 now. Right? He’s level 13. Wait, wait, wait. Wait, wait, wait. If we want something positive to happen here, kudo, Aldric uses. Aldric could use his portent. If Aldric thinks something good’s going to happen. And to make it succeed, if he thinks something good’s going to happen if Scorn’s putting this ring on. If you get my meaning. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So I guess. What’s the portent? Well, Aldric thinks he. I don’t know. I guess he would think he’s seen Scorn putting on this ring before in a dream or something. You remember the time we were in that other temple and he drank that potion. Yeah, yeah. Scorn. Because I haven’t forgotten things. Yep. This time’s different. There’s a skeleton there, and it’s a bit different, and it looks more… It looks more like power. So what do I. I don’t know if he’s going to use the portent or not. I’ll say if. How does it work? Would Aldric. Would Aldric kind of be able to know that? Sometimes you don’t know. Sometimes you have to, you know, take a leap of faith like Scorn just did. I’m not sure if it really works for this situation. I would just generally hope that something positive happens, but I don’t know if that’s good enough for it to be a portent. Okay. You’ll have to choose. Okay, well. Feels good. I mean, yeah, I mean, he’s going to make sure it succeeds. Yeah, he’s going to use the 20. Oh, the 20. It feels important. That blacksmith wouldn’t have spoken to him unless it was something really important. As you ring. The 20. A bit of knowledge comes flowing into it. There’s a spell in this ring to be cast. Oh. Okay, so it’s a ring of spell storing? But it might be like a big one. It might be a really important one. Do I know what it is? I don’t know how to put the spell on the ring, so I’ll spell as a scroll. Okay. But it is hollow. Hollow. Okay, excellent spell. Not sure. I might need the paladin to cast that. Well, I mean, if he’s wearing the ring like that, I’ll just give him the ability to cast. Oh, with a ring of spell storing, it’s not your class doesn’t matter. That’s right. Yeah. Ring of spell storing. Awesome. Hell yeah. A hollow spell. How’s hollow go again? What does that do again? It consecrates an area. Okay. Or something like that. Let me look it up. Yeah, I’m looking it up right now.
Yep. Infuse an area with holy power. You ward against creature types of your choice, and you get an additional benefit for the could we take a break? I’ve used this before. We’re going to take a 10-minute break. Okay, sounds good. Sounds excellent. Okay. See you guys in 15 minutes. Sure. Ah. Man, do I love DD? Yeah, it’s fun. Aldric, what time is it where you’re at? 10 o’clock in the morning. Holy shit. Yeah. So when you guys are having, like, Taiwan? Taiwan. So, like, you guys are having drinks, but I’m always having a coffee. That’s my drink before we start the session. So, like, how’d you find yourself in Taiwan? Have you been there, like, for a long time? Yeah, like, almost 10 years. Ten years, okay. Are you there for like work specifically, or are you just like, fuck it, I’m moving to Taiwan? It’s my wife is from there. Oh, okay. Your wife’s from Taiwan. So we went back to have kids there. Oh, that’s nice. And you’re enjoying it? Yeah, it’s great. What language do they speak there mainly? Mandarin Chinese. Mandarin Chinese. Do you know that well? A bit. So I actually tried to speak with Blueberry a little bit, have a little chat in Chinese. Oh, got you. But that was just before they decided to leave. So, oh well. They were like, sorry, I’m not going to be able to chat with you. Alright, then. Dang, so it’s 10 a.m. for you. It’s 10 p.m. where I’m at. I’m in Florida. Different vibe, maybe. Different vibe for sure. So that’s why I’m always a couple of minutes. I’m like, wait, let me just get my coffee. Let me just get my coffee and I’ll be with you. I guess it’s your day off, so you’re sleeping in. Yeah. How’s that Hennessy working out for you? It’s fine. You know, what is not doing me well is like, I didn’t realize I’m not the biggest fan of pineapple. This is just straight pineapple. I might just add something else to it next time. It’s not the worst thing. Yes. I could, but yeah. Alright, so you guys are passion fruit or something? What did the. She was like, you should add passion fruit. And I was like, maybe. We eat a lot of that in Taiwan. So I have approval here for you. Yeah, so I was just grabbing a quick bite to eat as well. That’s my hasty breakfast. You’re good. You’re standing putrid stench beans and the smell of burning flesh from how you dealt, wolves. Aldric’s like, sorry? Wing howl and the scraping of bone on stone. What direction? South. Aldric saying to Scorn. I think that ring is really important. Yeah, does Scorn canonically know what the spell is? Like, does he feel that vibe? Yes. I think you’re on mute. You’re on mute, buddy. I’m still on mute. Okay, I fixed that. I think he would know. I just noticed something. Ru-Ro. My AC is off one. I don’t know why. I think it should be higher. Yeah, the Cloak of Protection isn’t getting added to it. So something’s wrong. I don’t know. It should be 15 with the Cloak of Protection. Are you attuned to that? Ben and Blueberry has such satisfying-looking pints. What flavor? This is half-baked chocolate and vanilla ice cream with gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough and fudge brownie. Alright. Are we a low HP party? We might be. For the most part, yeah. I’m not super tough. I’m at 50. My max is 53. I got 37. I thought as a paladin, you would have more than that. No? I think it’s dependent on the way that I build him, but I’m more defensive. Like, my AC is 20, you know? Yeah, true. So, like, if I do get hit, it’s rare.
Not recently, though. Jeez. The new person who’s going to be joining us, I know it was the two people who might have been joining us, was a roguer cleric. Please tell me we kept the cleric. Kept the cleric. Cloak of protection is fixed. Thank God. I’m glad it was a quick fix. I just. One of the attributes was wrong, and I just to quick change that. Are clerics known to have good HP? No. Not necessarily. They got a D8 for hit points, but you can make a cleric with a lot of hit points, but you’re sacrificing other things to do it. So Hollow takes 24 hours to cast. If I’m casting it from a ring of protection, is that 24 hours already baked in? Yes. Or will I need to do that same cast? It will cast instantly. Okay. For this, it’s like, alright, guys, give me one day. Hold him off until tomorrow. Casting a spell. What are you drinking, Scorn? I see your big old mug. Well, this is just Diet Coke. Oh, hell yes, brother. Hell yes. So, where are we going? I’m hearing something. Something’s coming. Are you hearing something here, or is it just in your head again, Scorn? Because you tend to always have voices in your head. Yeah, you’re lucky I don’t do what they tell me most of the time. Alright, well, I mean, this is a dead end, so I think we should backtrack. I guess we should. Anything in the hallway here? In the hallway, there is a variety of scorch marks from all the missed firebolts. Yeah, one of those is fine. Nasty quirks of the ghouls. Oh, there’s casting gust at various points to try and get rid of any smells. Look, man, this place has no ventilation. So we could check out this hallway, or we can go back the way we came. I’m thinking. Do you want to backtrack? I don’t know. Does it sound like it’s coming from this direction? Yes. Okay, there’s something here. Yippet, how are you feeling? I’m feeling like we need to get to wherever this temple is already. Here. I’ll hand him a healing potion. It is a greater healing potion. Okay, I have one. I’ll keep in mind that I have one in my inventory then. Don’t let me. I have one less. Okay. Wait, can I add it through here? Hold on. In a battle, could we give like feed that to someone if they were down or something? Would that be an action or a bonus action? I’d like to give it to someone else. To defeat them. Yeah. Yeah. This. Well, I have one now. Come on, me. This looks like a dead end. Is it a dead end or will it open up all the time? We can see. I don’t know. Do we keep going? Should we backtrack, get what we can through this map, and then proceed? Because I feel like there were some halls that we didn’t go through back up there. Okay. Yeah, alright. I’d want to make sure we have all of our ground covered, or maybe if we can find something useful, you know? Alright, we didn’t take the left through here, so let’s… Or no. I think we were in here. Yeah, we were in here before. If we go up, I think it just sloops back around. I don’t know. This is a whole different chamber up here. Oh, it is. Okay. In here, you can see where there are several corpses ghouls have dragged down. Oh, wow. Okay. What do the corpses look like? Is there anybody… Do they just look like civilians or anything that stands out of the ordinary? They just seem like people grabbed from the slums. Except you notice every single one of them has their chest cut open, waiting for something. Oh, gosh. Ipet takes a second and kneels towards the bodies, and he says he prays. He mumbles a quick prayer and lets them rest in peace. Alright, guys. Oh, I think that was that hole in the wall. You look up ahead, you see the chamber at first enter. This is where we can. Okay. Okay, cool. So, and I know this goes down here, so it’s just a big loop around. Let me check this out. So, here’s where it came in, isn’t it? You’re startled as something grabs you from behind. I went a different way. I thought we were safe. You turn around and see Ellsmith shaking your shoulder. I got you. Oh, geez. Yeah.
You kind of suck doing that sometimes, you know? Not all of us are the same as Scorn, you know? He can handle it, maybe. Elspeth trying not to startle the wizard. I’ve seen him throw fireballs. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Could sometimes kind of panic when fire happens. So it looks like. Hold on. There’s still. I just need to zero out this whole thing because I think this path over here where these ghouls popped out of me is just a path back to the entrance, but I just want to double-check just in case. I think you’re right. I think we’ve cleared this area. This is just this little room. And then up here, this is where we came through. Yeah. Okay. I think we did it. We haven’t missed a single path. I think that’s everything, right? I think we’re good. It’s everything. Alright, cool. All right. Cool. Alright. Alright. I feel comfortable moving on then. So, before we go to that next bit, Aldric was wanting to go to that skeleton. And. The skeleton with the ring? Yeah. And cast animate dead on that one. Oh. See if you can make it rise and realize that may have been a holy person. Yeah, so I don’t know. Are you guys comfortable with this? Is that going to be a problem? But I’m going to. I need. I want some help. So he’s going to be. If I were to die and somebody tried to animate me from the deaths, I don’t think I would have liked that. But that’s me. I would recommend not using that skeleton. I think he was a holy person in life that might be sacrilegious. There are some bodies of people from the slums up there that. I just thought that would be even worse because, you know, it’s might be a step up for them. You never know. He’s joking. So, I don’t know. I could go and do that. I just. I don’t know. We might defeat something that’s powerful that you can animate, and it’ll be back on our side. You know? I mean, technically, it takes a minute to cast it. Not very long. We can wait. Alright. Alright, I’ll wait and I’ll wait. Wait, wait. I’ll just. If you’re going to animate the skeleton of a holy man, that’s on you. I wasn’t thinking about that part. Elspeth, where are you? She comes walking around. Just taking my time and taking in the sights and smells. You want to take in these smells? Ew. So are you going to animate anything? No. I’ll take the advice of my compatriot. Compatriot. Okay, so we’re. I guess we move on deeper into the darkness. After going what seems like miles of tunnels, twisting and bending, you’re hearing bones scraping on stone getting louder. There’s a door over there. Who wants to go first? I’ll go first this time. Alright. I got your back, Scorn. My blue brother. Uh-huh. I’m going to listen at the door. You hear the sound of bones scraping, and it’s the voice of a devil. I hear someone coming. We must hurry. Our plans must be complete. Do you hear anything, Scorn? Yeah. Scorn touches a tip of his horn and holds up a finger and points at the door. Ipit’s like, oh, cool. And then since it’s like a line, he looks over at Aldric, and Ipet’s like. Alright, Aldric turns to Elspeth. Elspeth. Oh, turn around and make horns to nobody. So hold on. Let me… Before this. Hold on, one second. One willing creature you touch is protected against creatures that are. Since Scorn is right in front of him, he’s going to touch Ipid right on the shoulder, and he’s going to cast protection from good and evil on him. So he’s going to be protected from aberrations, celestials, elementals, Fae, and fiends. The protection grants several benefits. Creatures of those have disadvantage against you. Can’t be possessed by charm or be frightened. This is good. Yep. Thank you. I’m going to open that door. Yeah, it’s on you. So, here we go. Do I see a devil in here? Your voice coming from a hallway to the east.
Echoing there. Peek around a corner. Quietly. Very quietly. What’s that thing in the middle? Well, the room. That’s always a good sign. See a door to the south. Oh, big hallway here. I’m going to try and sneak a peek around that corner without being seen by anyone. Roll stealth. I’m going to roll stealth. Ooh, good roll. Not bad. Okay. Oh, no. Scorn doesn’t say a word. He just holds out. Yep. Touches the tip of his horn again and like this. Holds his arms out. Show how big it is. You’re fucking kidding me. A bone devil? If it’s like, what? Oh, boy. Let me see what I’ve got for this. Oh, yeah, I’ve got something for this. You notice he was talking to someone to the north. Yeah, I couldn’t see who that was. Okay. Aldrich’s like, see, I should have made that skeleton. I told you. Now you wish you had it. Yeah, that’d be real. Yeah, it would go up to it and bink. So you want me to reason with him? Can you? I can try. Or we could try doing some spells or something. Look. I was going to reason with him using spells. Oh, okay. Well, I’m just saying. I guess, like, if you can reason with him, that’d be the best choice. Because at least there’s a small percentage that we could get out of this without having to fight it. Because if we fight it, it’s not going to be pretty. Don’t worry, Scorn. I got your back. I’ll follow your lead, alright? Okay. Is there any trap we can lay for it? I think it’s too late. Scorn waves it back. Don’t let him see you. Oh, okay. You go ahead. We’ll wait for your signal or whatever. Okay. Does it see me? We found what we came here for. We need to hurry. Okay. You see him. I’m expecting a large crystal deck. Okay, so from where I’m at, I think I’m in range of him. I might be in range of him. I’m going to. Yeah, I’m going to. I’m going to use banishment. And I’m going to prepare the spell first, and then release it when I step out in the hallway. Alright. So it’s like, yeah, it’s a held action, and it’s going to be triggered when I can see him. So, I’m casting Banish Banishment. Here we go. Cast. Fourth level. I’m concentrating on banishment. I’m going to step this way. Why can’t I step that way? There we go. And he might be a little further away than I thought. Yep, he is. He’s too far away. I move towards him. I’m going to move towards him until I’m in range. And, yeah, right about there, I can cast banishment on him. Has he seen me yet? He hasn’t. Oh, well, that’s too bad for him, because now he’s got to make a saving throw. DC-15 Charisma save. Thanks for rolling any open. That was the wrong one. Oh, oops. So he makes the savings throw. Well, I tried. Let’s leave. Hi there! He lets out this wretched howl you begins leaping towards you. Oh. Okay. Are we rolling for initiative now? Yes. Am I just screwed? Are we over here rolling for initiative or when we pull up with him and then we roll? Okay. Oh. Oh. Ooh, Betty! I’m seeing two sporons in the initiative. Um, I don’t know why. I don’t know. It rolled twice for some reason. So do I need to do it over? No, I think that’s fine as it is. Okay, we just. Which one’s which one are we using? The 20. Well, that’s good for me. Okay. Okay. And this is an ideal time for a thunderstep. I think that has to be a spot I can see.
Yeah, so, um, when he gets within range of Thunderstep, I’m just gonna cast Thunderstep and teleport my sorry butt over there. Let me get the damage for that. Thunderstep. Here we go. Third level slot, yeah. And I was right there, so boom. And we got 3d10. Alright, roll. Here it is. That’s Middlin. You’ll hear the sounds of bones grating against each other as it turns towards you and howls. Huh. Sorry, wrong temple. Ipet, it’s your turn. Ipet’s gonna look at him. And if it’s gonna look at him, and he is going to cast command. He’s gonna yell at it to grovel. And that’s gonna be a DC-12 wisdom saving throw. If he grovels and he fails this and he ends up groveling, the target has the prone condition at the end of its turn. You’ve gotta be kidding me. Well, um. I think that’s all it can do. Alright, Scorn. Oh. Okay. Um. I’d like to see who he’s talking to before I do anything crazy. Let’s. Um. Hey, let’s try dissonant whispers. Yeah, dissonant whispers. I love it. Second level. Let me see if I’m in range of him first, though. It’s only 60 feet. Um. He is just within range of it. Okay. I’m not moving. I’ll stay put. So, dissonant whispers. Second level. And that’s a DC-15 wisdom save for him. He failed. Oh. Just mixed it. Okay. 46 damage. Boom. And he’s running away. He uses his reaction to dash away. Dash down the corner. Moves as far away from me as he can. And I’ll drop a bardic inspiration on Ipet. You hear him cackling. The sound of bones grating against each other as he comes back around the corner. I don’t see him. I don’t see him. On the edge of your Aldric. Did Aldric see anything? What did Aldric see? Aldrich didn’t see anything. What Aldric saw was Scorn sneak down a hole, and then he heard a thunderous roar, and Scorn appeared back up at the top of the hallway and began casting spells as soon as he could. I think Aldric knows it’s something big, right? Based on that. He knows Scorn looks panicked, or at least engaged heavily. Yes. No, so we’re not really doing the what do you call it? Material components of spells, right? I don’t really need to worry about that, right? Don’t worry about that. We’re on session 10 and it hasn’t been brought up, I think we’re yet. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just or this particular spell is quite a big material requirement, but we’ll assume that he’s already done. Dude, you have a crap ton of cargo, like, pants, pockets. I think you’re alright. Oh, yeah, so I need to. I’m not concentrating on any flaming spirit right now, so that’s going away. Aldric’s gonna cast a construct. And it’s gonna be a stone construct is gonna appear just beside. You can do this? You can do that. I can do it now. Now I can do it. Yeah. This is like the first time we’ve seen Aldric do this. This is crazy. Yeah. And it’s gonna look like a priest from a temple with like a hooded robe and like an amulet around its from Assassin’s Creed. And it’s made of stone. It’s a stone one. I don’t know if you’ve got the stats for that. Oh, it’s right there. It’s right there, yeah. So he would like to do that if he can. Well, technically, are you able to control it when it’s its turn? Yeah. Okay. Aldrich, could you just check real quick that you can control that stone? What do I need to do? It just says it is an ally to me and my allies in combat. The creature shares my initiative, and it takes its turn. After me, it obeys my verbal commands. No action required.
By me. Alright, can you try double-clicking on the stone golem token? Oh, sorry, you actually mean physically control. When I double-click it, I get its stats. Alright, now try pulling it. Yeah, yeah. Although. Although, no, that seems to be there’s two. That’s fine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Cool, cool, cool. Yeah, I can do that. Alright, fix its AC. That’s true, yeah. 313 plus the spells level. And you just cast it at fourth level, right? Yep. I mean, that’s the max I’ve got. Now, are you choosing clay, metal, or stone? Stone. I technically think clay might be better here, but stone because I think it’s more in keeping with Aldrich’s personality experience in temples and stuff and the environment we’re in. So it’s going to be a stone one. Alright. So when a creature starts within 10 feet of the spirit, you can have the spirit target it, and it makes a wisdom-saving. And if it fails, it can’t make opportunity attacks, and its speed is halved. Yeah. So I can control this after my turn, right? So it becomes its turn after my turn. Yes. So should I say what I want to do now? Yep. Why not do it? So. Well, nothing really. He’s going to hold his attack until he can see something coming down the corridor and attack if it comes within his range or whatever he can do. He’s a slam attack. Or he’s multi. I don’t understand the difference between multi-attack and. The multi-attack tells you how many times he can attack when he attacks. Right. Right, right, right, right. And the slam is his actual attack. Right. And then there’s a berserk lash. Oh, but that’s the wrong. That’s clay. I think that’s. Yep. So when I double-click, I’m getting the clay, the clay guys, I believe. But I don’t particularly need to. Yeah, he’s just going to stand there beside Ipid and try and support Ipipid and wait to attack him once something. If it looks at it and is like, what the hell is this? Maybe it will turn towards him with like stony, gravelly sounds and kind of like Ipid for a minute. I don’t like. Nice. There’s the one. Aha, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes. Got it, got it. Wouldn’t want to get punched by a stone guy. Now it is Elspeth’s turn. She comes running up behind Ipid and the stone summon. You see her stand there and prepare to cast a spell. Now, Ipid. Ipid’s going to look at this thing. And what’s this area affecting? Is it something that’s going on right now, or was that just his thunderstep? That was his thunderstep. Okay, cool. Ipid is going to look back at his group, and he’s going to look at the bone demon devil. And he’s going to run towards it. To get close enough to get in range to attack it. And Ipid’s going to strike greatly with his great sword. Bootem cheese. 21 for the first hit. That hits. Double damage. Ooh, please give me a better one. You’ve got to be kidding me. Okay. So that’s going to be a nine. But with that nine, but with, or actually, that’s going to be his first attack. And then his second attack, he’s going to hit it again with a great sword. And shit, what’s that a nine? Alright, I’m going to go ahead and use my heroic inspiration to roll again. So thank you for that, Aldric. Yeah. That’s a 15. Does that hit? No. Okay. What’s your inspiration scorn? It’s a D8. D8, can I add that to my hit roll? You can add that to whatever you want. That’s a 19 to hit. That hits. Okay, so he’s going to roll damage. That’s 11 damage, and as a bonus action, he’s going to use Thunderous Smite. Yeah, he’s going to use Thunderous Smite. So that is… Okay. 2d6 thunder damage. So let me go ahead and do that. And of course he fucking succeeds. And that’s 6 damage. So that’s an 11 plus 6. So that’s 17 damage total on my hand. As I hit him with this thunderous smite, a loud boom that exceeds 300 feet escapes the sound of my sword. And it succeeded its strength throw, which, I mean, of course it did. And I guess it stood its ground as the thunder tries to push it back. And I look at it knowing that I kind of got the worst of what I expected to do from it. But if it looks up at it without any fear in his eyes.
And I think that’s all I can do on my turn. In response to your charge, Elspeth unleashes a spell. Hell yeah, dude. And then she just shoots me in the back of the skull with a magnum. Oh, okay. Elspeth, where’d you get that gun? What is she doing? Don’t forget you have that ring, man. Yeah, it’s on my mind. Going to cast acid arrows. Oh, jeez. Fifth level? I didn’t know you were cool like that. And she hits 18 acid damage. Now it is. Is it bloody? Did we get him? No, he’s not. Damn. We just made him mad. Whose turn is it? Scorn. Oh. Okay then. Let’s see here. One. Ugh, need to be able to move. There we go. One, two, three, four, five, six. I was hoping to get a little further. Oh, well. Yeah, let’s. Let’s wreck this place. I’m going to cast Hallow on this spot right in front of me. Or maybe I put it on the corner here. Okay, I’ve got to scroll for that. That’s what I’ve told. Where is it? There it is. Spell scroll, hallow. We’re going to use that. That’s a long spell. There’s no. Let’s see, I don’t have a template to put down. Let me see. Oh, yeah. Okay, there we go. Okay, so I’m going to center it on this corner right here. It’ll affect everything within 60 feet. Choose any of these creature types. Aberrations, yes. Elementals, nope. Fiend, yes, and undead. So aberrations, fiend, and undead. Undead. Yeah, creatures of the chosen types can’t willingly enter the area, and they can’t cause the charm to frighten condition or possess anyone. And I’m going to put a vulnerability rider on it, because that’s fun. Aberrations and fiends and undead in this area will be vulnerable to radiant damage. Yeah. Good. Let’s do that. So let me see. Can I draw anything here? No. Yeah, there we go. 60, 60 feet. 55, 60. Yeah, there it is. Boom. That is hallowed ground. So he’s in it now. He’s in it. Vulnerable to radiant damage. Good to know. And Scorn just says smite him. Okay. The bone devil howls with the clashing sounds of snapping bones. In cacophony, it begins to attack. Relentlessly hounding. Oh my gosh. Give me what you got. Ooh! If it is a wall! Not so much! The damage is going to be bullshit. I know it. It’s okay. We’re good. It’s going to suck. Yeah. He didn’t create you. You. That is. That is some low damage. You got lucky. You hit the damage and it doesn’t roll off too easy. Infernal Sting. Why does IPID make a constitution saving throw there? Because I’m concentrating on making sure. I think it was for protecting Scorn from good and evil still. Yep. I forgot what my DC for that was. Half of the damage. You are poisoned until the end of its next turn. I’m poisoned. And there’s nothing I had to avoid that, right? I don’t think I did. All jerking. Right. Can I cast spells on my construct? It depends on what the spell targets. Okay. Well, it would be protection from good and evil. I want to protect my construct. It’s a creature. I think it’d be a valid target. Display in chat. Yeah. So, Uldrich’s going to run forward 15 feet, look down the hallway, go, oh no. And yeah, I guess it’s his first time looking at it. That’s worse than I thought. And he’s going to cast that protection from good and evil on my construct. Oh, sugar. Is that a concentration thing? Oh, sugar. No, then he wouldn’t. Then he wouldn’t do that.
You would know that, right? What a no. Oh, yeah, you’re. Can I rewind? Well, that’s the concentrations. Forget that. That never happened. Well, he’s going to run up to. Well, he’s what’s going on. He’s going to pat his stone buddy on the back and say, you got this, man. Yeah. He doesn’t know anything about this devil thing. So he’s going to try and fireball him. But I looked it up on DD beyond, and I don’t think it’s going to work. But he’s going to. I think that’s what Aldric would try and do. Try and firebolt him. If he’s within range. And it just. It hates him and doesn’t do anything. You see it just blounce off of his hide. I think it’s immune to fire. I think it’s fireproof. Yeah. He’s fireproof. If Aldric can gain that insight from using that action there. Yes. That’s what Aldric would be doing with his turn. He’d be like, oh, shit. Fire is not going to work here. We need something else. We need something else. Got anything, Radiant? I’m about to say he is now. Okay, so that’s Aldric’s turn, and he would then command the Construct to get as close as possible to that Bone Devil. So Construct’s got 30 feet to get there. So he can get right up on the Bone Devil. Awesome. He’s going to go right up to him and do his multi-attack thing. No, his multi-attack. So how do I get it? And then you just do two of the slam attacks by clicking on those like you did the multi-attack. Cool. So the first one, attack, girl, slam. 17. Awesome. So damage first, or you want me to do the other attack? Damage. Damage first, which is 1d8 plus 4. Is that right? Yeah, plus the spell dev? I think the spell level gets figured in there. Yeah. Okay. So it should be 1d8 plus 6. So should I just… I can just type manually? I mean. Yeah. Is damage an option to just click? You click, isn’t it? Add the item level. So you ought to add the spell level. I’m sorry, what? I don’t understand. You should just manually type it. Just manually. So 1d8 plus 4 plus 4. Yeah. Nice. Awesome. So that’s the first attack. 15 damage there. Then he will slam again. But this time, probably not going to hit. Does not. As it goes to slam, the bone devil grabs its hand and jolts it back. Cackling the sound of grinding. And I think, good boy. Ipid blushes. And then he realizes you’re talking to the gold. You hear Elspeth loudly swear after running through the hallway. She’s on the other side of the bone and you see ghouls coming in. Oh, come on. Well, the halo’s going to affect them too, so we’ll deal with him. Hi there! Protect from good and evil. You hear Elspeth continue swearing. Oh, I’m surrounded. Uh-oh. What the hell is that by her? I don’t know, but it’s really ugly. That is what happens when you turn an old. I got no shirt on, man. Ew. Oh. Oh, that’s initiative, thank goodness. I’m trying to figure out how she got over there. You see Elspeth with long claws grown out of her fingers fighting with the large fiend on the other side of the bone devil. Did she get a piece of him? She takes out a big chunk of it. Oh, it’s okay. Then one of the ghouls comes up from behind and is attacking Ipid. His first attack doesn’t manage to hit, but it’s persistent. And his second. Jeez. What the hell? Ipid is weary from taking the blows. Ipid, it is your turn. Hmm. Ipid is going to look at the ghoul behind him. And I guess he’ll strike him. Okay, that’s a three damage based on the graves. He’s going to swing one more time. And 11. Oh, no. Okay. Oh, dear. In that case, Ipid, for his bonus action, he’s going to go ahead and use fucking. Come on. He’s going to use all of his lay-on hands on himself right now. Good move. Might as well. That’ll get me right back up to Max.
That’s that’s good. Yeah, that’s 35 leon hands gone, though. Well, that’s a good time to do it. Yeah. But if it, um, he imbues himself with that power. Um, but hold on. Actually, oh, wait, does that I don’t think that’s how that works. You can also expend five hit points from the pool of healing to remove the poison condition. Can that count, or does do I have to use specifically five to heal myself from poison, or because I used all of it, does the poison go with it, too? You can have the poison go with it. Okay, bet. So, yeah, in doing that, not only do I heal myself up to max, but I remove myself from being poisoned. Okay. Um, okay, yeah, and that’s uh that’s all he can do right now. He’s just ready to take whatever the hell these guys are about to give me. Alright, Scorn, it’s your turn. Yeah, Scorn’s gonna. Yeah, we’re gonna try to go across from the bone. We’ll try and give him a little relief. I’ll move in between them. And yeah, I’m gonna do another Thunderstep. Right here, yes. Boom. And I miss. I managed to not hit any friendlies, but I do get the two ghouls. Zap. I get the damage for that. Beautiful. And here’s the roll. This better be good. It’s really middling. Oh, look at that. One of them saved. The other one did not. And upon casting that spell, Scorn teleports right here. And he’s going to help out Elspeth a bit. And I’ll give I put a bardic inspiration. It’s like, just smite them. I’m trying. I’m running really low on inspiration. Oh, my gosh. Okay, that’s me done. Scorn, as you teleport away after hitting the ghouls, you see one going after all the ghouls. Note to self. Aldric says, ew. Oh, twelve misses because of magic armor. And that one. You have a response. Um, no. I just say, ah. Its claws dig into you and you take eleven slashing damage. So do I need to concentrate? Yes, you need to make a concentration check. Oh, yeah. I failed my last one, so unfortunately, Aldric, you don’t have protection from good and evil anymore. Scorn. That was on me. So I’ll take that off of there. Wait, so how do I do this concentration thing? I’m blanking here in my mind. Roll a constitution saving throw. Constitution saving throw, right? Oh, thank goodness. You maintain concentration. And now it’s the Tanaruk’s turn. See it lash out with its teeth, fighting again and again. All attacking Elspeth. You see it as she gets bit over and over. And then Scorn, honestly. From a tactical standpoint, I mean. Then it attacks her with his greatsword. Nope. Maybe not. And it manages to hit her with that. Oh, dang. She has a low AC. Yeah. Not good. You watch as Elspeth is getting torn to shreds by this Tanaru. Ow. Oh, indeed. Now the Bone Devil, losing interest, turns around and begins attacking Elspeth as well. Crap. Digs its claws into Elspeth. Oh. Again and again. Oh! This is horrible. You’ve got to be kidding me! Oh my god. Is that like going to be… Elspeth! Stay in! Stick with it! Hang in there! You watch as Elspeth under the onslaught is fighting, and then the sting runs through her chest. She collapses. Scorn. You notice as she throws you a scroll. Oh. Do I catch it? Yes. Okay. There are another scroll on my sheet. Nope, I don’t know what it does. You have no time to read it. Nope. Okay. Alright. So my turn. It’s Aldric’s turn. Okay. If I.
Tried to make a healing thing. Would I would I, having seen Elspeth go down, would I think it would get her back up, or does she look like she’s getting back up? Damn, was it more than half her HP? Yeah. Ah, fuck. So she’s done. Fuck. Aldric doesn’t understand. Does Eldrick know what this means? The player doesn’t understand. The character can tell that she is done for. She’s gone. She’s not coming back. And like, spare the dying wouldn’t. No. No, no, because it’s not like she’s making saving throws. She went like negative half her HP, so that means she’s done for. Ow. And how does Ipid look? Ipid is not far from the same fate. I mean, I’m at max HP. I’m just between them two. Yeah. That’s true, right? I see, I see. You’re at max HP, though, so there’s nothing I can do there. But I mean, in one hit, this thing was managed to do 42 on her. I’m at 53. So you’ll be fine. What are you? So Aldric’s going to back up. He’s going to want to throw a fireball to try and hit those two ghouls as best he can, so he would try and back up. So maybe on the edge of that damage. Yeah, I mean, they’re right now. I mean, so maybe he cannot get that second ghoul, but you’ll try and get the first one at least and try to get the second one. So I can’t. A fireball should get both of them easily. It’s a 20-foot radius. 20-foot radius, but how far would I need to back up then? About 20 feet. Let’s say I go there, and then we’ll do it. Wait, did that work or it didn’t work? Let’s measure. Yeah, like I think it’s there, but okay, Aldric would have moved, you know, hopefully far enough away. Alright. And try to cast that. Yeah. Does that seem okay? No, that hits them both, and it doesn’t hit me, so I’m good. That’s perfect. Hurt him. Roll damage. One of them failed to save. They both! Oof! Okay. Coolie, coolie. So that is 86. Let me just click that button because that’s easier to click. Not bad. Oh, there’s a five. Holy shit. That’s way above average on that. That’s good. As the flames roll out, you see one ghoul blown in half. One half go flying to the north and one half go flying to the south. Cool, it’s the one closest to me. Thank God. And the other doesn’t look far from that same fate. Having an arm blown off. Alright, that one’s Aldric’s problem. Yeah, I’ll be able to deal with that, I think. So Aldric’s just going to kind of ready himself, just kind of stand there looking grim, upset, and just waiting for this next ghoul to attack him. And he’s going to then control the construct thing. Yeah, so the construct construct is going to make two attacks again against the bone devil. Alright, roll. It’s good. 22. I think I did damage first, right? So let us do the damage there. Oh, sugar. I didn’t do the. Well, so it’s six, and then he does plus four. Oh, right, okay, okay, okay. So 14 damage, then he makes his next attack. Oh, holy smokes. Excellent. Oh my god. Ooh, good job. Ooh. Gotcha. 12, and then plus 4, I think, as well. So 16, right? Beautiful. You got the max damage on that. Good job. Bone devil chunks of its bones broken off. Its wings are collapsed. Yeah, it does bludgeoning damage, I think. Yeah, it does bludgeoning damage, so it’s kind of crushed those bones as it’s pummeling with his stone claws or stone hands. I think that’s it. That’s the turn. Ipid looks at the dead body behind the bone devil and he looks furious. As he in exhales, you see electricity come out from his nose instead of like steam, you know, like from an angry animal. But he’s going to swing his great sword once again at this thing. Do you have a dragonborn flame type thing?
I’m a blue dragonborn, so it’s electricity. It’s lightning when I do my breath attack. Alright, you feel me? I hit. I’m going to do the damages on the base weapon first. That’s an 11 for the first one. For the second one. 13. I’ll take that 13. And on top of that, I’m going to cast Divine Smite as a bonus action. Do that. Divine Fights versus a Fiend or Undead as a second level. That’d be extra 48. Yep. He says the damage increases by 1d8 if the target is a fiend or undead. Have we done that? Dice as well, yeah. We figured that in. And it’s radiant damage, so he takes it twice. So how do you kill this fiend? Holy shit! You’re telling me the guy, because that’s 24 times 2. Okay, alright. So if it’s. You just did about 70 damage in one hit. Vulnerability is nasty. I look at it. I rage in just blind anger. And he runs towards this demon and impales it from the center of all of its bones. Like, I guess its spine, which is holding a majority of it together. And I, like, slice up in between his spine, cutting him in half. And with my with the sword shining bright with radiant damage. His body disappears in sulfurous smoke as it dies. Fun fact, that was still only my one attack. I would have been able to have a second attack on it. You still have another enemy to attack. I sure do. I sure do. I do that, and almost without any hesitation, I run past this fallen demon, and I look down at Elspeth’s body with some sadness in his eyes. And he attacks this fugly-ass motherfucker right here. He won’t be able to do Divine Smite on it because I’ve already used a bonus action, but I’m going to go ahead and swing at it anyways. 25 hits. When we roll damage. Roll again because you have to check for advantage to see if you get the critical. Yeah. Oh, I have advantage against him? Yeah, because we’re flanking him. Oh, bet. Say less. Eh, whatever. It happens. I will roll damage, though. 13. I’ll take it. And he slices across this thing’s chest in anger. Just and then he’s just like, I’m going to send you back to where the hell you came from. Roars at you with a voice. Scorn. Yes. Scorn tucks away the scroll that Elspeth tossed him just before she died and unlimbers his staff. And I’m going to knock the crap out of this thing. I’m rolling with advantage because we got flanking going on here. I hope one of those hits. Yep, that hits. That’s good. And this is radiant damage, so it’s going to hurt. So how’s the flanking work? Oh, look at that. 1530 points of freaking damage to him. Yes. How do you kill this one? Staff comes down on his head and keeps going. Smash right through his body. This one doesn’t disappear and lays there in a heap of mangled flesh. You know what Negan did to Glenn in the Walking Dead? That’s just what happened. And he’s going to have a look at Elspeth to see if there’s anything he can do. I guess we’re still technically in combat. There’s still one ghoul left. Yep. That’s be done. Alright, the ghoul goes running towards. Alright, Aldrich. We all did something cool. It’s your turn now. Got any radiant damage? I don’t actually. Oh, okay. I’ve got a big stone construct, so maybe you can. But he’s a bit far away from him, but let’s see. There’s nothing radiant about the stone. It attacks hitting you with its claws. Oh, my gosh. Ooh. It hits you for 16 slashing damage. What are you doing? I’ve got 10 HP left. Okay, it missed the second one. We’re getting forgetting that it lost an arm in the explosion. It’s just kind of. Now, Aldric, it is your turn. Oh. Holy crap. Right. Something cool.
Well, he’s almost dead, so he might panic a bit. Uh note to self, teach Aldrich to teleport. Yeah, yeah. You need some kind of right, okay. Uh he’s gonna cast shatter. That’s not concentration, is it? No. And you can’t upcast it. Cannot upcast. You can. Can. So you can cast it at a third level if you. Oh. Why the heck not then? Let me go back to my. Why the heck not? So how do I do that? Uh, shatter. There we go. Third level. Yeah. So it’s a DC 14 Constitution saving throw. Lame! Lame! Lame! Oh, no! Well, roll your damn. Half damage might be enough. Roll. Roll good. He rolls good. Ooh! That’s a good idea. That’s pretty good. Alright, cast shatter. You see the body of the ghoul shake, and the whole thing explodes. You are showered in ghoul guts, maggots, and tentacles. Oh, no. Ick. Oh, no. Ick. Aldrich starts to run towards the rest of them. That’s his turn. You’re out of combat. Okay. I’m going to take a look at that scroll that Elspeth tossed to me. Maybe she had a plan. I don’t know. Can I read it? Well, Scorn does that. Ip is going to kneel down to Elspeth. How bad does she look right now? There’s a hole in her chest about the size of a… that you could pass a basketball through. Oh my gosh. If it’s going to close her eyelids. You have this scroll, and on the outside, there’s a short note written to you. It says, Sorry, but I had to get out of a deal. Oh. So that’s the note. Yes. Oh. Okay, that’s more powerful magic than I can usually cast. Can I do this? If it’s praying. Roll our corner. I can try and cast this. Arcana? Arcana is my specialty. No, seriously, I got expertise in it. Er, no, that’s a different character. I was thinking of my subject character. Shit. My Arcana is okay. It’s just a careful mind. But I’m good. You’re pretty certain you’ll be able to cast this. How long does it take to cast? An hour. Okay. This area will be hallowed until it gets dispelled. So Scorn’s going to pick her up and carry her over here to the basically the center of the spell. Scorn, what are you doing? She had a plan. Oh? Yep. So I’m going to take her over here. Yeah, this room is secure, I think. What’s in here? We haven’t looked around yet. Yeah. In here, you find her flayed open bodies. Uh-huh. Now, also, on the ground next to Elspeth, where you find a large crystal deck. Interesting. When you touch it, it vibrates. Okay. I’m reminded of that. That line from Time Bandits. Now be careful with that. That’s concentrated evil. Okay. Yeah, take Elspeth over here by the fire. And I will proceed to use that scroll. What did you guys do as he spends an hour over the spell, muttering and chanting, fervently casting a spell? Ipid’s going to go ahead and. How’s everyone his HP? Fine. Oh, I’m pretty beat up. Never mind. Take some potions. I’m going to save a prayer of healing just in case. Okay. No, it’s so. I’m going to use a… I’ve got an At-Will Cure wins I can do. I’m going to do an At-Will Cure wins that doesn’t need a slot. I can do that one time a day. Do that one time a day. While he casts this spell on her, Ipid’s not going to go far from the group, and he’s like, alright, Scorn, do what you have to. I’m going to be careful, but I’m going to take a look around to see if there’s anything useful, okay? Try and stay within the hallowed area. Nothing’s going to come in here that shouldn’t. Alright, got you. Aldrich commands his construct to wait by that northern.
Door. Just in case anything comes in there. Okay, this is a dead end. I guess, what is Ipid seeing as he’s going through these halls? As you’re going through these halls, you’re seeing dozens of bodies. People who were starving in the slums, who have been taken down here and slaughtered. Gosh. Bahamid, guide them to somewhere better. This is terrible. Aldric would be listening. I think there’s a door down at the south there. Aldric’s listening for anything. You don’t hear. He says, I think we’re good here. I can’t go any much farther. There’s a door at the end of this cave, but it’s outside of this field of protection, so I’m not going to go there anymore. What about Aldric? Was his door unlocked? I didn’t check, but there’s nothing, there’s no sounds coming from it. It doesn’t sound like anything’s there. Anything that was behind there would have probably came out by now, especially since we made a lot of noise. Yeah, I think we’ve been going. Lose more wizards that way. Yeah, seems like another area that goes on farther, but I don’t want to explore because I’m not going to get out of it. But as of right now, everything that the field of protection is covering is cleared. Right now we’re outside of any immediate danger, and all I was able to find is a bunch of splayed-out open bodies. And this dagger. Can Ipid inspect this dagger furthermore to maybe get some more information on it? Yes. How would you like to inspect it? Um, what’s his arcana like? I got a plus-one Arcana now. Can me and Aldric look at it, and maybe we both can have like a like an estimated role. Well, I do have an identify. I can actually just ritually. I could just ritually do that while Scorn’s doing his spell. Of course. We’ve got an hour. You could attune to it and find out everything about it. I think we’d identify it first. I’m kidding, of course. Ritually. How do I. Do you need to cast it as a ritual in the chat, or you can just say you cast it? I think you just say you cast it here. You can just say you cast it as a. Yeah, yeah. It’s a ritually. Aldric sits down and brews some tea. He cures his wounds a little bit. I guess this would count as a short rest, guys. So, I mean, we don’t really have to cast. I mean, you not for me. I already. Well, I guess spellcasting is a little strenuous. Fortunately, you will note that Skorn is unwounded in any way. That’s fine. Can, instead of, because I want Aldric to save his spell slot, since we are taking the hour to just kind of chill out, would he have been able to save himself from using that spell slot for Q of Wounds? But since he’s casting. I’ve kind of done it already. Up to the DM. I’ve kind of done it already, but if you want to. You already did it, so we’re going to say it happened and keep going. Alright, I think so. It’s alright. It’s alright. I was going to say, I was like, oh, well, I can benefit from this one-hour break, but I’m at max HP, so. I’m only missing 10 hit points, so I think we’re okay. Yeah, that’s like half your hit points, bro. I’m okay. I’ve got 27. I’ll probably be alright. So I ident yeah, yeah. You identify this dagger. It is the source of the ghouls. You use it to carve out someone’s stomach. After they have died, their body will be with a ravenous undying. It will be transformed. The body will lay dead for seven days, and then it will rise as you have no control over it whatsoever. You are a sick chaos. Any insight into the tentacle part of things? The tentacles were how the devil was controlling ghouls. He cut out their muscles and replaced them with ghouls so he could use them as puppets. That’s why they weren’t attacking him, because if there were any regular ghouls, they would have been… It would have attacked anybody. It didn’t matter who. Wait, so you’re telling me, Aldric, by that logic, all of these dead guys down here are bound to wake up at one point and turn into ghouls? I guess so. Because, I mean, they’re all gouged out in the same way that you explain that this knife would turn them into ghouls. And they’re all over the place. I’m going to be right back. Okay. So the knife… Can you explain again? When you gouge them in the stomach, you cut their stomach with the dagger and a ritual. Ghoul, seven days later. Oh, so they don’t need to implant anything in there.
The implants were so that the devil could control the ghouls. Yeah. So if we look at the if it, if we look at how long ago these guys were dead, maybe if we got the insight into how long these guys have been dead for in these halls, yeah, we could predict that basically they’re going to come back soon. I mean, these guys are probably varying in. Because, like, what were the varying, varying decays? Were they all sort of in the same state, or were they all in different states, the bodies? They’re in a variety of different states, from six days to some have almost no decay on them, and some are already orchestrating with maggots. Gosh. I don’t know. I don’t know if there’s a way we can stop them from turning at all, or because the damage is already done, these guys are bound to turn. I don’t know if us also, like, you know, making these bodies not useful, you know, like, will help them. Like, if we were to stab them in the head, would they still come back? Like, that I’m not sure. Does Aldric know? Aldric doesn’t know. Aldric, roll insight. Yeah, I feel like we’re. I feel like it’s worth some rolls to try to get this information because we’re relying a lot on that insight. Oh! Yes! So, that is a 21. Aldric, as you’re examining the bodies, voice old blacksmith you had met who had given you talking to him, say they must be burned. I was thinking that that is an option. I hope they will rise. I had two ideas. If it’s yeah, one of them was burning. I mean, I’ve got fire, and this is something I’m used to. The other option is informing the temples and having them send some people down to do that. I mean, we’re already here, and there’s a big fire pit right there. Hey, that’s a good idea. If we gather them up into the middle, I can actually create fire pretty easily as well. I mean, we just throw them in this active one. Yeah. I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah. Throw them in there and help them make it. Yeah, no, if it needs to be bigger, we’ll make a bigger. Yeah, I feel like that’s also a better way to put them to rest. I didn’t want to desecrate them while they were dead, but I mean, letting them burn and letting them go in a better way, I’m okay with. Aldric, well, while Scorin’s doing his thing, let’s go ahead and gather these bodies and let’s get this place cleaned up. Alright, so question for DM: would Aldric have the strength to. I mean, I think Aldric can drag a body from another room to. Let me look at Aldric’s character sheet here. Sure. I just remembered while he’s doing that spell, while Scorn’s doing that spell, the construct would last for up to an hour, so the construct would help as much as possible. Ooh, yeah, this guy would help speed up the process. It’s better and better. Yeah. Love it. Aldric, he’s got. You can make a strength check. If it’s above 10, you can. If it’s below 10, you can’t. Alright, then. Let’s roll it. Oh. God. One. I won one. So what does the scene look like? Like, me and the stone golem, we’re over here, like, leaving the hallway, dragging these bodies, and we’re looking over at Aldric. Aldric, what’s wrong? Pulling on a body, not going anywhere. His limbs shaking from effort. This is not really my forte. I gotta say. I throw the body that I have already into the fire, and I go up to the one that Aldric’s trying to pull, and I’m like, Aldric, you know what? Just if Scorn needs your help, just stand by him. Me and your Gollum got this. Yeah. The Golem’s gonna help. Yeah, I feel like the Golem is like three people’s worth of strength. So me and the Gollum are gonna, one by one, get these bodies cleaned up. And we’re gonna start with the older-looking bodies, just so that we’re not caught off guard by one just starting up. So Aldric will sit there beside the fire, and when you drop the bodies down, he would. If it’s not concentration, I don’t think it is. Control flames in the chat there. I don’t think that’s concentrated. Oh, there you go. Yeah, you can cover them in flames as we go. And I guess in about an hour of work, as you burn the bodies, you expect to smell burning flesh, but instead, you smell smelting iron, and you vaguely hear a hammer ringing out on. Huh? Oh, that’s a strange smell. In about an hour of work, are we able to get this place cleaned up or. Yeah, you.
You’re able to get all of the bodies. Oh, nice. Nice. After the hour is up, my stone guy would disappear. Yeah, before he disappears, Ipid like wipes his hand. He’s like, man, that was a good job. Hey, good job, man. And he just. Now. Yeah. Scorn. Well. As you finish casting the spell, you see someone descending. Oh. You see a woman you don’t recognize with golden hair and wings standing in. Do we all see it? Yes. Scorn’s like, they’ve come to take me. Scorn’s like. Hello. She looks down at you. Welcome. Well, hello, Scorn. Else the new look? Huh? It’s stunning, but you could have told me what you were planning. Honestly, I can’t take you anywhere. Oh, don’t be such a spoiled sport. Look, she pulls open her lip. No fangs. Aww. Well, I hope you don’t miss those. Looks like you got some wings instead. Yeah. Less hungry, and now I can fly. It’s a good real deal all around. But let me tell you something. Elspeth. Dying sucks. Oh. That’s the general consensus, yes. I trust you won’t do it again. No. Not with this body, I won’t. You see her flex her wings. What does this mean for the Eit Honshu vampire guy? Oh, what this means is the poor girl that had to do his bidding is gone. She died. And oh, he was so nice to give me a contract that was until death. You know, the contract had a few outs, and I had to take one. Elspeth, I thought we failed you in letting you die like that. I didn’t intend to die that way, but a death is a death. I’ll take what I get. Is that why you rushed into the free? Well, you see, Ipid was about to fall there, so I figured I’d help out, and it didn’t go well. Well, if it wasn’t for you, Elspeth, things wouldn’t have ended up the way it did. Thank you for your sacrifice. Elspeth looks around at you guys. Oh, well. Well, when you guys are leaving town, I’m going to come with you. I’ve kind of burned my bridges here, so to say. Yeah, about that. Your boss, he was able to see everything up until you died, right? Yes, and he saw me die. So, like… No, you’re back. Does he know you have a scroll? He didn’t know I have a scroll. Okay, so he won’t recognize you, I think. So we’ll have to get you a new name. Yes. A new name, some new clothes? A whole new identity. A fresh. Yeah, because those rags are barely covering anything, and Ipid’s, like, looking away. Scorn’s not. Anyway. I was about to say, yeah, is the vampire, is he going to, like, you know, I mean, this is something he didn’t want to get anyone involved in. Is he going to… How does he feel about this? Do you know? Is he going to react anyway, knowing that you were down here? Well, that depends on what you tell people. If you tell PP he was ever involved, he’s going to hunt you down. But if you just say this was your own thing, he doesn’t care. He only really cares about his own reputation. He doesn’t care what happens to you guys. Understood. Alrighty then. Aldrich’s sitting there making tea and he’s saying, I don’t understand. Dead things should stay dead. But we’ve got ghouls. Now we’ve got like angels or something. Ghouls. Aldrich’s experience is dead things are dead. And then you bury them or you burn them. Thankfully, the things that were bad in this situation stayed dead by the looks of it. You can bring back a dead person. I mean, properly, not as a zombie or a skeleton. You just need a little magic to do it. Yeah. And it’s not that common. So I’m discovering. Yeah, no. This is. I mean, she had planned her death so well that she was able to get the best outcome she could. Yeah, it worked out for her. It’s an excellent outcome indeed. Um, any idea for a name? I’m asking her. She looks at you. It’s a bit on the nose, but I should be called Seraphim. Yes. Perfect. Seraphim. Maybe we can call you Sarah for sure. Works for me. Alright. Well, perhaps we shouldn’t. Okay. The chalice, not the potion. The chalice. And where do we have that again? It’s in a secure location. It’s so secure, even we don’t know where it is. Maybe like a bag of holding or something, just so that we have it on us. All right, well, you guys see you next time. Yeah, that was fun and intense. That was fun. It was intense, yeah. I think we’re going to need to know what to say to Rose next time as well. Maybe we could think about that during the. All right, well, thank you guys. I will see you next time. All right. Bye. Yeah. Bye. You guys have a good day. Excellent game. Thank you. Yeah, it was good. It was really good. Intense.
